ARC SPRAYING
Around 1950 as the powder and wire flame spraying was already used productively, another process of the thermal spraying technology was developed: arc spraying.

For the arc process two wires are led to one another with a certain angle, these wires are used as electrical conductors with different poles (positive and negative) in order to ignite an arc between them, like in the welding process. The resulting energy is used to melt the wires in order to accelerate the melted wire, like in the wire flame spraying process, by using a sprayer gas, mostly compressed air, and a nozzle system and to apply it onto a surface (see Illustration of the company Linde above).
The aim of this development then was to be able to process less meltable materials, such as tungsten, molybdenum more easily due to the higher thermal energy of the arc. A second aspect was that the arc spraying process was cheaper in comparison to the wire flame spraying process.
For the arc spraying in our production we use the models 8850 MHU and 9000 by Praxair TAFA.
With these pistols we process coating materials such as:
- Wires for protection against corrosion, e.g. zinc, al etc.
- Chrome steels
- High-alloyed filling wires
- and many more
In our production cabins the arc spraying process may be:
- manually controlled
- linear-controlled
- robot-controlled
with areally and rotationally symmetrical spraying stands.
We are equipped for:
the production of individual parts / small series / large series
Standard dimensions in our production are:
- Maximum length: 5500 mm
- Maximum diameter: 1200 mm
- Maximum unit weight: 3200 Kg
- Areal dimensions: LxW 5000x3000 mm
- Any dimensions going beyond these measurements require special requests.
We also test and develop customer-specific applications and document these in reports, upon request even with a metallurgical analysis.
For each processing or development a customer-specific production schedule is generated. Thus it is guaranteed at any time that the works are always carried out, processed and delivered with a consistent quality for you.
