In the process of the laser spraying the spraying powder is inserted in a laser beam. Thereby the powder as well as the surface of the work piece are melted and the coating powder is thus connected with the work piece. As in the case of welding a protective gas is used in order to avoid oxidation (see Illustration of the company Linde).
